Some people wear the badge ‘atheism’ as if it is a medal of honor. ‘A’ meaning a negative, or lack of, and Theos, from God, hence no-God. Folks are actually proud that they have reasoned God not only from their lives, but from existence. I’m thinking this is not easy to do.
There are many branches of atheism; some quiet, others not so much.
Some time ago a fellow made the remark that he would believe in God if he were to perform some kind of trick within the next fifteen minutes. He was serious, to which he was told: ‘Do you think you can exhaust the patience of God in fifteen minutes?’
Quite an answer, for heaven is silent in this age of grace. There is a reoccurring tempting of God these days, for people are daring God to ‘challenge’ them once more. ‘Just show up’ they say, so their unbelief may be idolized when God does not cater to their whims.
Has not this mocking of God been going on since the beginning of time? Yep, and it will only increase. ‘Prove to us that you exist’ is the call, and men do not consider the thousand daily proofs that stare them in the face.
God is ever God; He keeps the planets in tune, the reliability of the sun and the moon are taken for granted, and the multitude of proofs he has given man, are thought to be mere accidents. There is no place on earth that does not have his regard, and it is He who holds the title deed to the earth, and not you Mr. Atheist. Without Him, you are a trespasser on another man’s property.
But there is a sect of atheism that cannot exist without the foundation of Christianity to attack. Mind you, all the other faiths of the world are pretty much ‘hands off,’ but ah, believers are worthy of being a blip on the radar of atheism. It is this strange relationship that the atheist needs to fuel his unbelief. There must be something in addition to God to NOT believe in. There must be something to ridicule.
Believing in no God alone just will not cut it, they need to take something from others, kind of like the Lord saying ‘Who touched me?’ when he perceived virtue went from Him. And here is the grand theft of the atheist. Taking from others.
The atheist at heart needs to justify his unbelief by trying to take from others what is precious to them. He wants proof and a piece of your faith so you will have less, thus making him stronger in unbelief and you supposedly weaker. Really?
I need to prove nothing in the identical way God wins all ‘challenges’ without showing up.
God gave man a conscience that he may know His Creator, and man steals this gift to really worship himself. Nature teaches there is a God, and the conscience affirms it.
True the atheist will deny this, and say ‘we do not worship anybody or anything,’ but denial goes hand in hand with unbelief. The conscience is between the bone and marrow of a mans life, try cutting it out; no can-do. It makes us human apart from the animal, and all men know instinctively (unless there is an illness of sorts) there is a God.
From God’s point of view there is no such thing as an atheist. It is not a matter of unbelief, but of simple denial. It takes a whole lot of hoop jumping to explain away the incredible reasoning of a world without God. People mock faith, but faith is EVIDENCE in things not seen. Evidence? Yea, we got that.
Don’t steal what belongs to God. Everything is His. And btw, atheism was never a great badge of courage.
Atheism is indeed so outlandishly foreign but it’s still so easy to believe that everything happens all by itself.

The burden of proof lies on the shoulders of the person making a positive claim, not the person they are trying to convince. In this instance you prepose a hypothesis, that god exists and can be known by man. Further this theory becomes a presupposition for a number of other beliefs about the nature and qualities of your god.
The man demanding god to show himself, isn’t tempting god he is testing your hypothesis by himself, under real world conditions, and the result that he gets is similar to the result a man gets when trying to regrow a severed limb with prayer.

Hey Pop-
Nope, I don’t have to prove anything. Ask your earthly father to prove you are his son, he will laugh at you.
You conscience is proof enough. Sin is proof enough. Death is proof enough.
The emerging perennial flower is proof enough. The moon above as a reminder that God will never forsake Israel is proof enough.
The rainbow is proof enough. Need proof? Yea we got that.
And oh yea, there is this other thing called the Word of God. 😉
Tkx for the reply-

If I ask my earthly father to prove I am his son, he wouldn’t laugh. And if I questioned this hypothesis all I need is a DNA sample, which I can test verify for myself.
Sin is a human concept, we know this because we know where the idea comes from, around what period of human development and why. The book of Genesis is not a literal tale. How do we know this? First because it is a re-telling of Pagan Mesopotamian Mythology.
Death. How is death proof of god? all it is is evidence that human’s have a finite span of life, as does every living thing on and including our planet. Non of which requires a god be presumed in order for us to explain.

I will only say it is interesting that over 2000 years ago, this very truth was recorded:
“And (God) hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation”;
I can only tell you what I know. The heat that you do not see from the sun, is the same heat available from God’s word. You missed the point about father and son; the fact that you even had to ASK him proves my point. Some things are innately known and stamped on the conscience.
Nature, the word of God, and your conscience is all the proof you will ever need.If you have never studied God’s word, then you are at a disadvantage.

The issue isn’t what do you know, it’s how do you know it is true? (Assuming you want to believe things that are true.) Outside of presuppositions and assumptions you offer no mechanism for determining the veracity of your beliefs.
I didn’t miss your point with regard to the father and son. You claim things are known innately, but it is possible that the person I call father may in fact not be my biological progenitor and that I could not know this.
What I merely pointed out was that if I did indeed have a question of whether my father was indeed my father I could test that and prove through DNA the answer. You have provided no such way of resolving this question with regard to whether your god does indeed exist.
Nature itself is not evidence of the existence of god, especially when there are competing theories that do not require the assumption of a divine being to explain why the world is the way it is, a biogenesis being the most common.
We are currently fortunate to live in a period when the climate is pleasant, and conducive for human life. We know for much of the earth’s history this was not the case, because we have centuries of climate history trapped in Ice that we can read. We also know that the climate is changing and that its changes may make the conditions on the planet not so conducive for human life.

Just today, on the internet was an visual demonstrating how small the earth is in comparison to the known and visible universe. There was no reference to God or religion in this information, just a presentation of facts. I was reminded again of the awesomeness of God who created ALL of this and holds it in place, in balance and perfection by His will and the laws He created. All of the evidence points to an intelligent designer whose intelligence is so vast, so “not us”, that it could only be an almighty and powerful God.
Some will choose to believe, many will choose to reject…

For people to say Bett there is no evidence of a Creator, I really believe they are not being truthful with themselves.
God says in Romans ‘they (we too) are without excuse’
Things made require a Maker.-

CS, with all due respect, I think this comment is quite illustrative of our exchange on another site. In the interests of decorum, I would like to move it here (or you can comment again on my post if you like).
The post you wrote above is one of the reasons why I made my post Tuesday about misrepresenting things. If my comment elsewhere has offended you, please note that when you say things like, “For people to say[] there is no evidence of a Creator, I really believe they are not being truthful with themselve[,]” you are being equally as offensive.
The crux of the issues I discuss with you, CS, centers around me being quite polite while you insist I consider and reconsider evidence and things I’ve already examined. Should I take you at your word here, and respect that you think I am lying to myself, or should I take you at your word that you wish to respect my views?

Back up SB to the post I drafted in answer to members of the A-team who accused Paul of having brain damage. Yea, the New Testament was written by a man who gave his life for a cause, and was a lunatic.
This is the context when I say people are not being truthful, and I said SOME people, which may include or not include you
. But, you are not off the hook, for God says ALL men are liars; not necessarily liars before men, although some are, but before Him.
There is an inner voice that men deny, which makes us untruthful. Look at the stars and tell yourself ‘there is no God.’
Why would you take offense at me for telling you what God says of me as well? C’mon sb. Think.

Well, God’s Word exactly declares Who created the heavens and the earth. He also tells us the normal response of the human heart, rejection of the perspicuity of the totality of the created order and the conscience. The atheist is left with the impossible task of explaining not only the origins of life but the depravity of humankind. God’s Word clearly teaches us about both. This is what a Nobel Prize winning scientist had said about origins:
When it comes to the origin of life on this earth, there are only two possibilities: creation or spontaneous generation (evolution). There is no third way. Spontaneous generation was disproved 100 years ago, but that leads us only to one other conclusion: that of supernatural creation. We cannot accept that on philosophical grounds (personal reasons); therefore, we choose to believe the impossible: that life arose spontaneously by chance. George Wald 1967 winner of Nobel Peace Prize in Science.
The fool has said in his heart there is no God.

Eliza yes,
I have a friend who is PHD in microbiology, He states what you asserted, that the learned of academia are not convinced that ‘life sprang accidentally,’
but they can not simply tolerate the obvious alternative.
‘In the beginning……God.’

Hi Colorstorm,
Here is a blog I wrote in recognition of your good work for the Lord Jesus Christ and seeing the rage of atheists against the truth. God bless you:)
