The heavens declare the glory of God. And oh by the way, as Genesis simply says: He made the stars also.
Note the context and watch in silent awe. Design, perfection, majesty, scope, order, and mind blowing magnificence, then ask yourself: What is man that God has an interest in him?
NASA does not disappoint

You are missing one very important fact.
This vid is not about man, it is about the Creator.
(Speaking of all that is) ‘For thy pleasure they ARE and WERE created.’ As was suggested in the heading, ‘what is man?’ For the glory of God WAS long before man came along………….and yet,
It is THIS God who has stooped so low to come to earth.

Um, sorry – that’s not a fact, it’s an opinion.

Your opinion of man is too large, and your opinion of God is too small.
That’s also a fact.

Amazing colorstorm, vast and immeasurable, much like God Himself. Someone mentioned “naked apes on an insignificant planet,” well yes we are, but consider how profound that is, how remarkable it is that we exist at all, and how loved and treasured we are. So loved and treasured, God Himself came down to walk among us.

There’s an interesting paradox woven in there. When we cannot even conceive of the idea of creation being purposefully made by a power Higher then ourselves, it really is all about us. That really is the height of human hubris. It’s also probably a kind of defense mechanism. It can be scary to confront the fact that we are ruled by a God vastly more intelligent and powerful than we are.

I don’t follow the argument here. If the creation is not “purposefully made by a power higher than ourselves,” how does it then follow that it’s all about us? How is it the height of human hubris if we see ourselves as just a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of the entire universe.
“It can be scary to confront the fact that we are ruled by a God vastly more intelligent and powerful than we are.”
Why would this be scary. We want to believe that someone or something is in control. We want to believe that there is “a plan” and a reason or purpose for suffering, etc. This is one reason why we create religions in the first place. It’s not at all scary to believe in God.

” It’s not at all scary to believe in God.”
LOL! Actually it is terrifying because it requires us to surrender our sense of control, to accept that we may be accountable for our actions, and to face the fact that we answer to Somebody higher then ourselves.
CS Lewis said “I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of Port would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity.”

Terrifying? Not at all. So we’re accountable for our actions. Big deal. All you have to do is say a few magic words, and all is forgiven.
Further, you’re ignoring the rewards of faith here on Earth, and the ultimate reward is eternal bliss. Who doesn’t want that?
“CS Lewis said “I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of Port would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity.”
And yet millions and millions of people take enormous comfort from the Christian faith, right? So, maybe Lewis is wrong here. Or do Christians not find comfort in their faith?
And, again, how is it the height of human hubris if we see ourselves as just a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of the entire universe.

Spoken by someone who does not truly know God. The spiritual implications, the impact our behavior has on others, the ripple effect of our own actions, is enough to crush you once you realize how significant you really are.

I’m very well aware of the impact my behavior has on other humans. That’s real. That I can see.
The spiritual implications? Well, again, according to your beliefs, if you say the magic words, all is forgiven and you are rewarded with eternal bliss. So, really, how “terrifying” is this?

When you did not get the paradox, I had to laugh. Not at you. At myself. At one time I would have been just as dense.
Set aside the emotional considerations — how superior you think you are because you don’t believe — and just look at the evidence. Consider your weakness, not your strength. Observe your neediness, not your own ability to provide. Admit you are a sinner; don’t pretend otherwise.
The heavens declare the Glory of God. We don’t even know what is out there. The more we perceive of God’s creation, the more amazed we become. That video shows just a picture of Andromeda Galaxy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andromeda_Galaxy).

Are there people who think humans are the only intelligent life in the universe? Yes. Do some of these people call themselves Christians? Yes, but the Bible does not say it is all about us. The Bible does not say we are the only intelligent life God ever created. The Bible just says God loves us enough to redeem us from our own sinfulness.
The Bible is about Jesus — God. The Bible says we are just hapless sheep in need of a shepherd, and He is the Shepherd. And yes, what the Bible says is scary. It is also humiliating. We want to be equal to God; we don’t want to be His sheep.
Check out Psalm 23. What was amazing about its author? David was a king who knew He was a sheep in need of a shepherd. In spite of the fact he founded a powerful kingdom, that able people were eager to obey his words, David had the humility to admit he needed a savior.
We all need a savior. We are lost in an awfully big universe. Only those souls who can who can admit their need for a Good Shepherd will be shown the way home.

Well, I certainly hope not.

Sorry, you will nor bastardize this otherwise excellent video.
As to scrutiny? Yessir, I have no desire to scrutinize your commentary which promotes ‘nothingness.’
You may want to consider how patient people are with you in spite of your daily insolence.

Well that’s just to bad for those who do not give God credit. To walk through life with eyes shut, blind to the one who created it all is very sad and lonely. I know I did it for 47 years and Now that my eyes are open to Him I will never shut them again. btw All is great in my world thank you 🙂
