Just a small thing

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  (time, space, matter)

Time, space, matter

All contained in the very first verse of scripture.

There is no other document on earth with such revelation of truth and facts contained in seven words (the original text) as the opening announcement which gives credibility to everything that follows, as well as putting in place the attempts of man to dismiss it.

God and His word have always been light years ahead. ‘For ever O Lord thy word is settled in heaven:

For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.’

Yep, even communication is subject to the laws of a Creator. After all, it is the word of God.

Let God be true, and every man a liar. (Now now, I have said many times this does not mean men cannot tell the truth; but as to a Creator, to deny what is obvious; ahem, ‘in the beginning God created…’)

It is a wondrous gift for us to have such undeniable truths before us and it brings glory to God each time his truth is shared with the world! You bless us with his word!

Colorstorm, are you not going to release my comment? You released Planting Potatoes… but not mine.

Any reason? (Freedom of Speech, remember)

You said There is no other document on earth with such revelation of truth and facts contained in seven words (the original text) as the opening announcement which gives credibility to everything that follows, as well as putting in place the attempts of man to dismiss it.

That statement is wrong. (EDIT: This comment goes on and yawn and yawn.)

COLORSTORM TWO CENTS: Forget it jz. Your three long winded comments attacking scripture have no welcome mat here, you may as well paste them at your place. Figures somebody would come along with a story about the unreliability of the first verse of scripture, and present the ‘alternative stories’ which simply assault scripture and God Himself. To debate your comments, gives credibility to your bizarre claims.

Not interested. Genesis 1.1 is authoritative enough, and ten thousand devils cannot break the triple cord of truth, that God is responsible for all that is. May I kindly refer you to the example of the Lord before Pilate: He who was the Truth, was mute.

Now go ahead and say how ‘afraid’ I am to post the ‘truth,’ but there is this thing called discernment.

(By the way, I did you a favor by not mentioning your ‘mistake’ which actually hurt your case)

Woops, I made a mistake. That list is in fact the Hebrew order of Creation. Apologies, I didn’t read the site (which was identifying the similarities) well-enough before copying that segment.

If you want you can find the Zoroastrian creation story in, as said, the first Fargad (chapter) of the Vendidad, the most ancient parts of the Avesta. It’s almost identical to the Hebrew one, except some orders, and of course, pre-dating the Hebrew version by over 1,000 years. The Zoroastrian Creation story is today collectively called the Bundahishn , its vast, and it begins:

    0. In the name of the creator Ohrmazd.

    1. The Zand-akas (‘Zand-knowing or tradition-informed’), which is first about Ohrmazd’s original creation and the antagonism of the evil spirit, and afterwards about the nature of the creatures from the original creation till the end, which is the future existence (tanu-i pasino). 2. As revealed by the religion of the Mazdayasnians, so it is declared that Ohrmazd is supreme in omniscience and goodness, and unrivaled in splendor; the region of light is the place of Ohrmazd, which they call ‘endless light,’ and the omniscience and goodness of the unrivaled Ohrmazd is what they call ‘revelation.’ 3. Revelation is the explanation of both spirits together; one is he who is independent of unlimited time, because Ohrmazd and the region, religion, and time of Ohrmazd were and are and ever will be; while Ahriman in darkness, with backward understanding and desire for destruction, was in the abyss, and it is he who will not be; and the place of that destruction, and also of that darkness, is what they call the ‘endlessly dark.’ 4. And between them was empty space, that is, what they call ‘air,’ in which is now their meeting.

Ugh. Its endless. Since the truth is unimpeachable, may as well mock it.

Maybe another can address this, then again, maybe not.

        Whose mocking anything?

You made a claim, it was wrong, based in error, and I showed you how.

That, Colorstorm, is simply called “presenting facts” 😉

In addition, assassination of the word of God will not get free PR at my expense. Profane and vain babblings? they will be shunned.

          Again, whose “assassinating” anything?

You have this very peculiar habit of assigning meaning to things which simply does not exist.

Again: you made a claim which was evidently based on faulty information. The Zoroastrian Creation story contains all the stages contained in the Hebrew myth, proving your claim wrong.

That is a “fact” Colorstorm. You can’t be angry with “facts.” They just are: facts 😉

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

  5. Great article! Great wisdom! God created everything! What is even more astounding is that God knew Jesus would come to die on the cross and rise from the grave providing us salvation even before He created the world!!!!!

      • Aside from the obvious sarcasm in my comment above, I am what I say I am; there’s nothing much to hide. Your derogatory claim about my integrity really needs no response, for many, many will disagree with you. However, I thought I would include a definition as a refresher (with reference – I’m not stealing). It seems to me that nowhere in the following definition does it require to defend one’s beliefs to one who only wants to mock them. For that matter, a man of integrity might consider such a waste, sort of like casting pearls… but you’re no swine, are you? 😉

        integrity /ɪnˈtɛgrɪti/

        ■ noun
1 the quality of having strong moral principles.
2 the state of being whole.
▶ the condition of being unified or sound in construction.
▶ internal consistency or lack of corruption in electronic data.

You were being sarcastic. Good heavens, I would never have guessed.
Learn something every day, I guess.

But all your claimed integrity is nullified in the context of our discussion as you are a Christian.
It is somewhat like military intelligence – an oxymoron.
Yet, if you feel your character is in any being impugned then feel free to respond to the request regarding evidence for your claims.
