To life I say

So it goes:

‘What proof do you have of a Creator?’

In my very best John McEnroe on the tennis court challenge to the official I shout: ‘YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!’ But to satisfy the questioner I state anyway:

‘My proof of a Creator is life itself and all that is in it, above, beyond, and below.’

Quite a dilemma for any to challenge this assertion, for the return complaint is: ‘My proof of no Creator is life itself.’

And then I say quietly that you cannot have my proof and steal it as your own, for you just foolishly admitted I have no proof.

What, you are saying life is a mirage?  So then, outside of life, where is YOUR proof the Creator does not have all trademarks, copyrights, and patents to His own creation?

Do you have the blueprints for the creation of the bumblebee? The great whale? An ant? A spider’s web?  The eye of the eagle? The claws of a tiger? The speed of a leopard? The human conscience? Perhaps some of your friends have the prints somewhere on file…….

Do you hold the patent for that genius relationship called marriage as being ‘one flesh?’ Do you?  I have proof of the Master Designer for this institution. Where is yours?

I have proof that there are 24 hours in the day put into motion by the Creator. What friend of yours had this novel idea?  Then there is always the seven days in the week, in which all mankind agrees that this is a pretty good concept. Then there is the year… Got any buds who dreamed this up?

I have proof that the Creator holds all things together; yep, He keeps the stars in place, the tides, the seasons. He provides water. Would you happen to have any friends with this kind of strength?

Do you hold the copyrights to mankind giving birth after his kind, as opposed to birthing hyenas? Well, maybe a poor choice, as many a man does not have the manners of the critter.

L’ chaim! To life I say, is evidence enough. If the reliability and consistency of time, life, and days are not convincing, no amount of ‘proof’ will ever satisfy a heart stayed in the land of Rebellionsville.  And oops, I forgot, the scriptures confirm that life begets life, and the Creator put His ‘amen’ on the truth that confirms His handiwork.

Gotta love that rainbow too, as a wink from above.

(yeah yeah I know the accusation  of ‘simpleton’ will be hurled quicker than a speeding bullet, and on target as a McEnroe serve, but hey, I like simple)

And yet, in that simplicity, there is a depth we can never fathom; whether it be 20,000 leagues under the sea…..or to the edges of eternity, or on the next page of scripture. Imagine His patience then when people say He doesn’t exist.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, like clay vessels with His seal on them for starters. Yep, plenty of room on the bench though W.

      ‘NO JEWS believe Moses lived…….’

‘NO ONE of sound mind believes the scriptures………..’

Do you see the quicksand you put yourself in on a regular basis………… You assume waaaaaaaaaay too much.

And while I’m here, you would chastise the good sheriff, and a good small town with average people, where there was no vulgarity, no murders, no perversion applauded, there was American pride, and there was humor that children could watch, as opposed to the godlessness of uh, let’s say, Howard Stern, or many of your blogging friends.

Sigh..ok. Here we have the guy acting like an elementary schooler criticizing a person’s age. I guess your stated agenda of tolerance and acceptance includes everybody …except those you find it fun to mock. So far we are up to the elderly and those of faith.

I tire of your endless repetition cloaked as intelligence, designed to carry on a conversation which is both irrelevant and so yesterday’s news.

But Truth? Yea, that would be the word of God.

‘For ever O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.’

‘The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.’

Quite a difference there in the economies of God.

Oh yes, there is proof all around, particularly with numbers and nature. A woman for example is pregnant for 40 weeks on average, 40 being a rather important number in the Bible. Proof like this is all over the place if one cares to look. Here’s an excellent website by the way that goes in to much more fascinating detail on the significance of numbers, http://aboverubies.org/index.php/2013-11-12-17-55-51/english-language/pregnancy/274-pregnancy-the-wonder.

    As always CS, great post!

Nice addition trish with the link, a real pearl…tkx.

7 lbs avg newborn. Makes sense eh? The 40 wk gestation was kinda cool too, in light of the significant 40’s of scripture.

I agree, there are no accidents with numbers, heck, the origin of arithmetic is an exact science after all, as all truth is verifiable and reliable.

So a toast to you too, L’chaim!

  6. Amen, Colorstorm. God is in life itself, every heartbeat, every cell that is repaired, every bone that is healed. This is nothing to sneeze at, we are in a constant state of repair and change physically, and hopefully spiritually too. God really is the glue that holds us together, that holds the whole universe together, actually.

My friend I know you like a good verse. You might like this poem that I found in a book written many years by the wife of a Presbyterian Pastor. It was a poem that was loved by an older member of the pastor’s congregation:

    “GETTING OLD”

You tell me I am getting old
    But that’s not really so.
The house I live in may be worn,
And that, of course, I know,
It’s been in use a good long while,
    And weathered many a gale.
I’m therefore not surprised to find
    It’s getting somewhat frail.

You tell me I am getting old –
You mix my house with me!
    You’re looking at the outside,
    That’s all most folk see;
The dweller in the little house.
Is young and bright and gay –
Just starting on a life that lasts
    Through long Eternal Day!

    My home is getting ready
In that land beyond the sky.
    It’s architect and builder
Is my Saviour up on High.
But somehow I think He’s leaving
    The furnishing up to me.
So it’s treasure up in heaven,
I must store each day, you see.

I want to be made fit to dwell,
    In that bright Home above;
Cleansed in the precious blood of Christ,
    And growing still in love,
The wonders of that glorious Home,
    No tongue can ever say,
‘Tis hidden from these mortal eyes,
But kept for us some day.

These few short years can’t make me old,
I feel I’m in my youth,
    Eternity lies just ahead;
Full life and joy and truth.
We will not fret to see this house
    Grow shabby day by day,
But look ahead to our new home
    Which never will decay.
    Sandy Dougal

The poem dates from the long past hence the term ‘gay’ is used in a different context to its current meaning.

Of the many things she writes, one thing jumps out: eternity lies ahead.

Time flies, and what she says is all too true. But tkx peter, perhaps others will appreciate it too.
