The bell tolls for thee

We interrupt this program to bring you a special announcement. Well you may disagree as to the special part, but at least there are no annoying sales pitches. While finishing up my next release here on WP, the thought occurred to me that the content is really good, and I mentioned it to someone else, but it is not for the reasons one would think.

That said, please follow the one instruction I request, and then you will agree, that is, if honesty rules the day, and it should. Just think of that bell as if it was just for you.  Prepare ye for what is to come.   Only 1200 words.    😉

Now back to our regular broadcasting.

The bell tolls for me at 245a every morning, 6am on weekends. Every new day is a gift unpromised and a mercy undeserved. To each day is it’s own reward. It’s up to us to give our days, however many there may be, purpose, meaning and direction.

Fortunately, that is true only to a small extent. We are only sheep.

When the Creator made all things, to each of us He gave a purpose, and to each of us He gave a choice. If we choose follow the Good Shepherd — if we humble ourselves and make our purpose His purpose — then when that bell tolls for thee, for me, for all who have heeded His voice, then we will hear our Shepherd calling us home.

Sorry Tom. But I no longer believe humans are as stupid and stubborn as sheep. We are far more creative and intelligent. We are capable of so much more than just blindly following and obeying without question or understanding.
There is so much more to us that what the bible gives us credit for. And if we are animals at all… We are primates decended from the great apes. Although all life is related genetically.

Sooo, it was you great apes who built the pyramids and jet airplanes?

Well, it certainly wasn’t the God of the Bible. It was humans using their own ingenuity and labor. We did it, not the God you credit for our intelligence and engineering creativity

The word “sheep” is used here as an analogy. Compared to our Creator, it flatters us considerably to call Him our Shepherd and us His sheep. It is pure silliness to think we don’t need His guidance, but sheep are silly and stray.

‘Flatters us considerably to call Him our Shepherd.’ Very nice.

Especially Tom, when we consider He is the good, he great, and the chief Shepherd.

So no answer? Typical. Lol. Poor preacher can’t even articulate his world view. So this gift you were given and this mercy you were granted….who did that? It’s an easy question even if the grammar sucks.

Life is a gift all people share as a result of still being alive. The mercy is that even though the universe seems ‘designed’ for non living things, upon waking every new day we find ourselves not one of them. Lol

Actually John, I didn’t start this particular line of inquiry. You did when you claimed that the moon and water are supernatural, and qualified it with the statement that the moon was not natural because it doesn’t have grandchildren. I asked for clarification and you reiterated and dodged rather than retract your statement when I clarified your category error.
I was just asking if wally also believes the moon to be supernatural rather than natural. Now wally can’t answer for himself? Has to have you telling him what he can and can’t answer? Pretty typical. Color storm makes a mistake he doesn’t want to admit to, then tries to make the other person look foolish for questioning him on it. THEN attempts to keep others from answering for themselves based on questions, whose answers might show his answer to be silly in the first place. Amazing. Have a great day.

This post was a simple announcement regarding another to come.

YOU generated a thread totally irrelevant and inappropriate. YOU brought the mud into my living room, but I was generous to entertain your bloviations.

Preacher Mike. YOU were asked a question. I could care less if you answer. In fact I would be shocked if they did. We all know atheists never answer questions because they have no answers.

Non peace to you. Now run write a post

Please and thank you are reciprocal. They imply a relationship. Man I would hate to be around you if you sneezed and someone said ‘God bless you,’ what would they get a lecture about godlessness?

Or would you just ‘receive’ the well wish…….even foolishness admits to God. Sheesh.

But you have managed quite well to drive this little post about an upcoming post into a sideshow.

Sorry, I’m not inclined to be thankful TO anyone for a natural event, just as you’re probably not willing to thank God for tornadoes that kill indiscriminately. We can be grateful for things and happenings in themselves.
Unless you ARE thankful to or blame God for earthquakes, tsunamis, ‘accidental’ deaths and other natural disasters. But im not sure you would be nearly that consistent in your belief that all things and happenings are from the god of rhe bible, yeah? Hard determinism is kind of extreme.

You have been hanging around atheists too long. You sound like one. Pity. There is no natural unless there is supernatural. So you don’t think the moon above is supernatural eh? You think it accidentally appears so you are not lost as fog at night.

Then there is water……………Wake up thou that sleepest. Water water everywhere. As to your tsunamis? Yep, thankful for them too. The whirlwind is a bitch.
