The two faces of evil

–With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;  With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.–  So sez the good book, and so I agree. After all, it’s kind of obvious.

And from Titus:

-Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.-  Ouch. ……’is nothing pure.’

Seems rather clear and blistering true, both from experience and observation, especially on the intertoobs. Men hang themselves with their own rebellious ways, and blame God for their own defects.  Not too smart. People can be outright stupid.

It’s one thing to deny the Creator the courtesy of existing, even more-so when He has given ten million times ten million proofs times ten billion proofs such as found in rain, sand, songbirds, men, women, male and female of all kinds, bats, ants, worms, trees, sunsets, heat, cold, love, hate, birth, death; but it quit an affront when the same God holds up a mirror to our faces, and we tell Him, ‘nope, that’s not me.’  As I said, stupid.

Talk about mental duncery. Talk about intellectual deception perfected to the nines. Talk about not being honest when we hide our faces from our own conscience. Stupid.

To cite God as evil is the crème de le crème as proof of just how low humanity has sunk. People btiched about the evil God who first misted His creation from the ground up, as any good landscaper would attend to new vegetation, then they put their foots in their mouths again, when they chastise the Creator of water for sending an over abundance of water, causing the earth to flood.

Yep, they cited Him as evil, however, they conveniently forget that for 120 years, God was patient, extremely gracious, pleading with the miscreants who cited God as evil, ignoring His merciful pleas, and asking for proof that there is one God. Ha! As if the Creator of the sparrow has a competitor who created the eagle.

Stupid I tell ya, plain stupidity to deny what is rightfully God’s. And the result of such blatant numbskullery? To see God as evil, and to not see that the look in the mirror that reveals just where exactly the ‘bad intent’ lies.

‘With the upright man, thou wilt show thyself as upright, and with the froward thou wilt show thyself as froward.’  God’s word is always correct. It is always ten thousand years ahead of any objection.

So dear believer friend, has this not been your experience in dealing with the truth of scripture? So unbelieving friend, is this indictment not true of you, that you see everything through the filter of godlessness, while you avoid the truth of your own heart?

Without a plumbline of truth, without a level which proves off center, without a compass to prove direction, the atheist/unbeliever/infidel has to admit that he has absolutely no standard whereby he may judge what is pure, and what is froward.

God’s word contains all these tools, because God is the only toolmaker. They are eternally consistent with Himself, but the look in the mirror tells us what we already know. So then neighbor, if you had to choose a face of God, who gets your vote? And this selection of yours reveals more of you than you could imagine.

But try to consider if this post is true. Here’s a clue though: it is true.  Truth is always consistent with itself.
