It needs reviewed!!

Has anybody seen the laugh button remote? I need to mute the darn thing. Why? Some knucklehead went on record asking for ‘peer reviews’ of the biblical writers, as if their words are not good enough. Am I serious? Oh yeah, but no surprise, people have been playing this act since theatre school began so many thousands of years ago. Drama abounds on the internet as infidelity and rage against scripture increases.

Right, like a man needs to hear from somebody who is more credible and reliable than the scripture writers. And who pray tell would this be? Who would have a more accurate and truthful account of David standing before that rather large idiot, a goliath of sorts, than the scripture writers who were only to be loaded with fidelity to the text, whether they liked it or not.

Scripture needs no peer reviews. It stands alone. Firm.  Secure. Brutally honest. Unashamed accurate.

It is a ploy of Satan to ASK for proof outside of scripture, to spend minutes, days, weeks, months, years, decades, like a hamster on a wheel, going nowhere and expending valuable energy trying to find a flaw in the monarch of books.  Genesis can’t be trusted! so says the professional naysayer and decon. Science they preach is the only god! Yeah ok, sure, your science then without context or truth is like a thief boasting of the virtues of a known liar.

Without scripture, science is deaf, dumb, and blind. Without a Creator, science cannot as much as count to three or spell boy. Am I sure? Who you gonna call to get a peer review on the creation of the first man Adam?  Who you gonna call to explain the selection of the two sexes, male and female? Perhaps Genesis can’t be trusted because Carl Sagan says so.

Who you gonna call to approve the fact that man and woman are not a new and improved version of the male and female jackal? Who will ‘peer review’ the life and times of Joseph in Egypt, Daniel in Babylon, Saul in Tarsus or John in Patmos?  Maybe we need to bring this up before the board of DeGrasse for approval?

Scripture needs no peer review. In fact, it is peerless.

Peerless. Second to none. Beyond compare. So yeah, while there may be useless knockoffs held in the mind of fools who would ignorantly equate scripture with the French version of Rowling’s Harold Poitier….I have nothing to say to you if your mind is so saturated in the cesspool of stupidity.

The opinions of Nye, Hawkins, Harris, Maher, and any such loud mouthed student of infidelity are useless against scripture. Their words are like the attempt to retrieve a drop of water they lost in the ocean. Futile. Useless. And most of all, embarrassing to common sense, true science, and learning.

I’ve said it before, science cannot even explain how truth is related to one plus one, is equally clueless as to darkness and light, and is embarrassingly out of its league by denying the creation of man and woman. Here, hold the remote: ever see a godless scientist try to teach a monkey how to read Hebrew, from right to left?

The godless. Lost as fog, and even more clueless than apes who can’t spell ‘madam’ backwards, but at least they have an excuse. Then again, there is that peerless book, the scriptures. It’s all there, deeper than any canyon on earth, and holding more wisdom than all the mines in Africa. And understanding? Yep, that too.

But peer review scripture when it has no peer? Yeah, good luck with that. You keep your lying scholars esteem, and I’ll keep the book of Job, Genesis, Daniel, Exodus, the epistles, and why? Because they stand alone, because they all came from God alone, as they testify to the truth of science, nature, geology, astronomy, biology, archaeology, agriculture, arithmetic, the alphabet, economics, law, grace, justice, judgment, faith, mercy, hope, charity, all speaking the same harmonious voice.

As I said, peerless.

Well said ColorStorm! Hmmm, peer review biblical writers, now that’s a new one but I can’t say I’m surprised. The constant requests for proof are just a denial of what’s right there out in the open for anyone to see.

An interesting quote I heard recently speaks to this, “Every day, as the sun rises, we too rise as God’s character ushers in the day.”

Just last night, as I taught the Teen class at our Wednesday night youth program at our place, the topic of the constant demand of “proof,” came up. Apparently, the demands from the scoffers start coming very early in the lives of believers. I counseled them to stop wasting their time, as their God needs no proof having proven Himself in everything we see around us. That wasn’t actually our class last night but quickly became that. My counsel was to quit wasting time trying to prove the One who already has.

    Romans 1:20
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

My counsel was to not entertain that, but if they did to quickly point out the voidness and incoherence of the atheist view, get back on the Gospel message, and drive on.

Clearly seen, as it says in romans. Clearly. No ambiguity or fog on the windshield. And this is precisely why our atheistic visitors have gone on to find sites where they think they can make inroads.

Here at the den, we graciously spit out the bones, and enjoy watching the godless try to argue against God and scripture.

God’s word has never lost a single argument. Never. Exposing fraud by the light of day is a good thing, and of course to God be the glory.

Young people need to know the scriptures though, and not to be embarrassed by the sceptics or fools who can only wish God’s word was not true.

Yes of course, that evil creature who it is said takes on many forms, one with horns on his head, legs of a goat, a coarse growl and a long metal pitch fork who resides over every non-Christian screaming and thrashing about in the fire pits of hell begging God’s forgiveness, and of course exists also in atheist form.

“God’s word has never lost a single argument. Never.”

You are so right CS how could anybody doubt the Biblical word of God. How can we not believe Genesis, so much more scientific than we can imagine today and recorded centuries after the events by a superstitious murdering prophet in loincloth and sandals.

This scientific creationist miracle was undertaken by the father of the handsome carpenter preacher called Jesus, with his slightly unkept beard and hair, the most inviting blue eyes and the divine loving glow of divinity emanating from his pale face who was eventually designated as the saviour of mankind.

Unbelievable, but a lovely touching story.

In a sense the Bible writers have been peer reviewed, by those who decided that their works should be included in the canon. All of the reviews have been favorable.

      ‘Favorable.’ Ha true.

Also true, that Daniel was peer reviewed by Christ, Genesis was peer reviewed by Paul.

The issue is never that the scriptures cannot be trusted, it is that people simply do not like what it reveals about them.

  6. Well said, Colorstorm.

“In Him I have my breath and being,” so that’s kind of like tangible evidence right there. Contrary to what some say, I’m pretty sure I’m quite real.:)

Then of course there were all the Divinely inspired men who had to take bits of scroll in clay pots across multiple continents, in several different languages, and all come into agreement about what fits and what doesn’t. IMO, that is quite miraculous and a feat that I don’t believe even a modern computer today could pull off, let alone a group of men. Scripture is just fascinating in the way it reaffirms itself.

Kind of funny too, but you and me and a few million other Christians testifying and coming into agreement is pretty much the very definition of “peer reviewed.”

Btw, I like your idea in your last line, and told Ctom as much too. Awesome. WE reviewed it, and the results are in. I do not care what a thousand unbelieving so-called scholars have said.

Even all the different denominations and sub groups of Christians going back many centuries up until today cannot agree and understand what the scripture says, and you follow different doctrines of righteousness, therefore it is wide open to interpretation and ridicule by anyone who has an opinion, including the devilish atheists, so suck it up, you have to live with it.

To mention a few minor things God would not worry about I am sure, such as a young Earth or an old Earth believer, Adam and Eve or evolution, gay marriage and adultery, alcohol and abortion, even music, gifts, clothes, food, baptism, child rearing and preaching of politics cannot be collectively agreed on, and believe it or not Jesus and the trinity, and you recon all you people can get it right?

Gay marriage? No such thing, as marriage is the union of opposites.

If others don’t agree, they are just plain wrong. But I can tolerate other people’s ignorance as I said, what I cannot tolerate is mindless stupidity such as atheism.

There can be some differences of opinion that are cultural/political, and sometimes our communion wafers come in different forms, but as to “different doctrines of righteousness?” No. Because without the Lord there is no standard in which to measure “righteousness” in the first place. Righteousness is literally, “one of the chief attributes of God as portrayed in the Hebrew Bible.” It is not a “doctrine” at all, it is a simply an attempt to reflect our Creator and to be pleasing to Him. There is surprisingly little disagreement about that, although styles do diverge and appear somewhat different on surface.

Righteousness is the quality of being morally right or justifiable.

I would expect the definition of what are righteous morals differs for different churches when you consider attitudes towards certain groups of people, abortion, adultery etc.

      • Actually the bible says, “there are none righteous, not one,” so the vast majority of Christians are not even operating on a “morally right or justifiable” paradigm. To be justified is actually to be in Jesus Christ. Absent Him, there is no “morally right,” no standard in which to weigh and judge human behavior. While there are always some cultian oddballs out there, by far, the vast majority of churches are actually in agreement with these foundational concepts.
