Now that’s significant

There is a plague in the land. There is a virus that attacks all good things, it has claws and fangs, and it is obvious on the WWW. Like a stealthily serpent it creeps, it moves having a singular purpose: to make life in general, and mankind in particular, insignificant. Ouch, and man oh man is this ever so true today.

When we hear so-called men of learning speak of unproven and unmeasurable trillions and trillions of miles, and guesswork of billions and billions of years, this is the rotten fruit of sinful men’s attempt to put man in the same category as sandpaper.

That’s right, in the worldview where God is not welcome in His own creation, man may as well be no more relevant than a single grain of sand used to make paper. Double ouch, for without design and purpose, life is merely insignificant. This is a factual, reliable, and a brutally truthful statement, for no man would then be qualified to speak with authority since life would only be guesswork.

Insignificance is the seed plot for guesswork.

This is the mind of the stunted intellect thank you very much, a life admitting there is no purpose, for apart from intelligence, eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die. Rob a bank, kill your neighbor’s cow, for you have just as much right to that cow as he does, after all, there is no purpose, meaning, there are no absolutes, no right or wrong. Steal it, kill it, make a leather jacket, who cares? Sin? Ha. what sin!

In the insane world view of liberalism and godlessness, his cow is your cow, other people’s money is your money, for we are but a cosmic grain of human insignificance. Right or wrong has no place in a world of utter insignificance. How dare you say the spider has no right to trap a fly, or that a black snake is cruel for snatching a bird.

Unless of course, if scripture is true, and man is not on the same plane as the ravaging beast. But scripture is true, men are not spiders and snakes, and man is in fact and in deed, significant, like no other creature on earth, so much so, that the animal kingdom fears and dreads man, just as the good book says, and long before Chuck Darwin wore his first diaper.

Doubt this? Call a common robin to eat from your hand, tell him you will not kill him, tell her to come closer. Good luck with that. Try to pet a whitetail deer in the wild, you know, one who wasn’t bribed to shed her nature living in a pen and eating gourmet food, and she will be long gone with a few leaps. This fear and dread thing of man is a killer to godlessness, for the deer fears not the turkey, as they stroll side by side, but watch them fear the coyote, yet watch them dread man. Oh yeah, quite a difference.

And no trillions and trillions of miles needed for the coyote to walk to earth…unless he was the recipient of that cosmic explosion which gave him teeth and the turkey only got second-rate feathers!

Sorry, but the four-footed creatures are significant, but man more so. Made in the image of God he is, designed to live under the umbrella of God’s goodness. Rain as a gift, the rainbow as a reminder. Men are clueless as to the nature and scope of the Creator, thinking ‘out there’ makes Him aloof or uncaring. Nothing could be further from the truth, for God so loved THIS world. THIS earth surrounded and enveloped by the high seas, this earth unlike any other. It is indeed significant, and God gave men a brain so unlike the frogs, who leap to wrong conclusions.

So take your pick:

In the beginning God…

or

In sig nif i cance.

Seems a no brainer to common sense, reality, facts, science, arithmetic, the alphabet, logic, nature, and of course scripture itself agrees, after all, truth explains it all. I have chosen. Without the sole Creator, your only conclusion is one of cosmic insignificance, one void of purpose, and with no one to thank for your existence and good life. NO ONE TO THANK. This is your life? Really?

But try then convincing yourself why you are more SIGNIFICANT than a cockroach who can neither tie his shoes, juggle grapefruits, or count to six. But I suggest you take into deliberation this ‘made in the image of God thing…….’

Then again, perhaps you simply enjoy cultivating your insignificance. Triple ouch.

Seems to me the significance of one’s life is up to the individual using what God gave us individuals to serve that end… the sin being, living life as someone you are not.

      That’s a fair point.

But in the context of ‘no God,’ that’s a horse of a different color.

(Btw, haven’t forgotten about the other thing, interpretations, etc)

I realize it’s popular among evangelicals or simply folks significantly into their faith do debate the context of non-believers and of course, those interpretive differences of the faith “they” all seem to want to debate. I just don’t find it worth the effort if one presumes that spirituality is an individual thing. If one person wants a “no God” then so be it; if another person aspires to reach the Pearly Gates living a life of spiritual devotion, then so be it. What’s to discuss about the other person who does not believe, and what’s to debate among the faithful how the Bible should be interpreted? What’s wrong with “to each, his own”?

It’s far more than that doug. It’s exposing false science, fuzzy math, godless theories, and all else which acts as poison and infects all good things.

          Boys in girls bathrooms? Poison
So called scientists citing Christians as delusional? Poison.

So called scholars claiming Exodus was a fraud? Insidious, treacherous, and poisonous.

So yeah, blogsville is a wonderful tool to take out the trash, and some minds are evn changed for the better.

We would all be selfish fools though if we kept such jewels in our pockets, to be shared with no one. It is godlessness which suggests insignificance, and I’m here to say otherwise, by proving it.

Ok, fair enough. Although I might point out that for “poison” to be a threat it must have a risk of being consumed (absorbed, etc.) in some fashion. Does that then not presume faith is built upon fear rather than desire, or doesn’t that even matter as long as the end justifies the means? Perhaps what you assign as “poison” is simply another person’s “alternatives”.

Well, of course that establishes your preferred context of spirituality in it’s lowest denominator, Wally. Mind you I’m not dissing any belief or non-belief… just pondering what seems to be in the blog world spiritual folks consuming themselves by.. well, consuming themselves.

A couple of things, Doug. I don’t have my own preferred context for spirituality. And the opening words of God’s Word are certainly not the lowest denominator, they are actually the highest from which all proper spiritual context flows. I know you don’t believe that, but you are simply incorrect. You seem to have many personal opinions about what constitutes proper “religion,” yet the only source is what you have in your own mind. I would not call that a reliable source, any more than my own mind is a reliable source. As far as your last sentence…what does that even mean? We consume ourselves by consuming ourselves?

Ugh. Wally.. I’m not looking to be contentious here. I’m am certainly not qualified one bit to even having the slightest inkling that anything I might believe in spiritually I should bestow upon an uncaring world trying to win affirmative accolades. I was simply stating that many Christian people spend a seemingly large amount of time trying to defend their religious position (consuming themselves).. and I just seem to think if you let it be there might be a lot more tolerance. Was just an observation.

Well, I am not trying to be contentious either Doug. You asked, and I answered. But I must say some of your word use seems pretty contentious. Such as, “I’m am certainly not qualified one bit to even having the slightest inkling that anything I might believe in spiritually I should bestow upon an uncaring world trying to win affirmative accolades” Um…that’s actually a untrue statement and a complete mischaracterization of those who speak of Faith. And of course, folks would tolerate Christians is we just shut up and let it be. Sadly, Doug, that’s simply not going to happen. Just an observation, though; you actually seem prety consumed with wishing those of faith would just shut up LOL. And FYI, I actually spend little to no time “defending” my faith. I do spend every moment I can spare telling people about it. Big difference.

Christian blogs more pleasing than atheist blogs? I never really thought of the experience as being pleasing one way or the other given I generally read to be informed. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever visited an atheist blog. I get the feeling the Christians visit atheist blogs in an attempt to save their souls… like blog missionary work. Atheists love Christian visitors so that they can harangue about all the hypocrisy in religion. Everyone practices their command of the language, grammar, sentence structure, and use of commas… and post copious diatribes on how right each side is. I suppose that in itself could be some form of entertainment to some.

I do not have any problems with the black widow spiders or any of the laws of the animal kingdom. Everything happens for a reason, it is natural, it is nature, ecosystems adapt from environmental changes, natural selection and behavioural changes are happening all the time for every form of life including humans because we are so much like many air breathing warm blooded animals we are human mammals.

Animals we are with big brains, big enough to make up stuff to satisfy ourselves, to lie, cheat, steal, kill, dream and imagine the impossible or make up superstitious and supernatural entities to rule us all and imply our greatness over those who do not agree with us.

Whatever the categories humans decide you and I are in, there are many others with their own ideals and categorisations who will challenge your own, and because spiritual deities or mortal men will never rule the world you will just tie yourself in knots by trying, therefore just like nature, natural changes occur let go of your inhibitions and your restrictions and Live for today or you may never live at all.

Truth is CS what benefit do you receive being a severely deep-rooted and determined fundamentalist Christian that I do not? You believe in an afterlife, but I do not, so let’s say I give you a 50% chance of your ideology being true, what then is the advantage here because you have to be dead to find out?

You believe God helps you through life in prayers and miracles, whereas I help myself and rely on the law of averages, chance and good old fashioned good luck to pull me through and obviously there is no advantage for either of us here.

Christians, Jews, Muslims and secular people, atheists, agnostics and humanists all rape murder steal molest children and commit all sorts of crimes against humanity, therefore nobody has a clear advantage or dominant role from any ideology either.

Remove the reward of heaven and the admonishment of hell and all religions would probably have failed to exist as they do today.

Okay, I admit I have missed out the social interactions, the overwhelming loving and emotional parts of worshipping a creator or the spiritual feelings as you speak in tongues or when speaking to God in prayer, singing songs of praise, listening to a church choir, reading the holly book or watching a man being healed of his earwax problem and the great feeling of tithing.

On the other hand, I enjoy the wonders of the natural world, the satisfaction of being alive on this Earth at this time particularly before man has done his best to destroy it. The scientific advancement over the last 200 years and the amazing technology is awesome, however I doubt any of it will be available to extend my life during the next couple of generations, so I live for every day unashamedly.
