I’m from Missouri, show me

Well, not really, I’m not from that state, nor is it a lie, as it is simply a statement enjoyed by others, but yes, ‘show me’ a mistake in the book of Genesis, that masterful piece of history, geography, genealogy, anthropology, science, (true science that is) romance, decadence, spirituality, carnality, praise, curses, the unpleasantness of death, and so much more.

Show me an inaccuracy, an overstatement, a lie, something too incredible to believe, show me a fault in the text itself. Be careful though as not to bring forth something you just plain do not like. And while I’m here, SHOW ME one single source material that provides the correct origin of man, one that provides precise context for the dwelling and purposes of the sun and moon.

Show me another work where atheism is so easily defeated, where poetry and literature have no equal, and where the thoughts of men are reduced to rubble. Show me a source that records the greatest vice of men and their subsequent exaltations.

Show me one source that so eloquently speaks of the insect and beast. Show me one source that so elevates womanhood. Show me one place that explains apparent contradictions and why. Show me a source so full of mystery and awe. Show me a place where man’s mouth is stopped entirely.

Show me ONE work of reference that so encapsulates the learning, progression, and understanding of humanity that also includes man’s end of days. Show me ONE place wherein the contents of holy writ can be rightfully challenged.

Show me a defect worthy of discussion. Show me where the scriptures are not actual, factual, logical, and most reasonable. Show me where the divine trifecta of the compass, the level, and the plumbline have a challenger.

(Spoiler alert: many have tried, ALL have failed.)

    Mistake/s in Genesis?
    Oh, there are so many.
But we can start with everyone’s favourite,Noah and the global flood.

Hi neighbor. Trust you are well. Yeah, I’ve heard that gripe before.

          Ask yourself the following;
-Ever heard anybody fall ‘off’ a lake?
-Would any engineer worth his salt build the Empire State Building knowing it moves/gyrates/spins?
-do you know sea level is virtually impossible on a basketball?
-don’t be so quick to condemn that which you are proving to be clueless.

But you are veering way off topic. The very clouds above your head prove the water canopy has been broken- and that the entire world was covered in water. No big deal to understand.

But you don’t really believe the tale of Noah and his ark, surely?

Surely you know that the depths of the oceans are just about equal to the heights of Everest- some 29,000+ feet?

Yikes, that is some serious water. Gee, I wonder where all that water came from …..

And Noah? Don’t forget Shem, Japheth… and the other. And remember, the ark was built by amateurs, while the Titanic was built by professionals, and boasted to be unsinkable. Oh the arrogance of man.

SOM for example is as Left Field as they come in the realms of idiotic religious drivel yet even one as oddball as he is acknowledges the scientific fact of evolution. Oh, and he also accepts the earth is definitely not flat!

That’s ok ark. I give people the road as to differing views without lowering myself to useless name calling or lousy accusations.

But a game? Not to me. I have the only sustainable answer as to WHERE the water comes from. It is scientifically accurate and reasonable to believe.

Evolution and atheism provide guesswork and infantile assumptions.

Does this passage below elevate womanhood and is this persons death logical and reasonable for moral Christians CS? Plenty more of these kind of weird things in that book.
    Genesis 38:8-10
    English Standard Version
8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Go in to your brother’s wife and perform the duty of a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother.” 9 But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. So whenever he went in to his brother’s wife he would waste the semen on the ground, so as not to give offspring to his brother. 10 And what he did was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he put him to death also.

Hi Steve- Tkx for your comment- it’s apparent you read carefully by your wording.

Your reference is what happened as a matter of fact. The Bible’s credibility is seen when we read of things so extreme- David killed a man. A king tried to kill David. A woman nails a man’s head to the ground- You and I hopefully are free from such things.

Heck, just listen to todays news- people thousands of years ago would blush that we question things they did.

Thanks for your reply John. This is the nature of the God that you worship right? Life was hard then and people died young, but having to die because a man chose to ejaculate on the ground to prevent a pregnancy is extreme madness. So why did God not just wave his hand and create a pregnancy as he has done before?

What will happen to all the Christians who have used a condom to prevent a child, will they get to heaven? Maybe the anti abortionists should condemn men and women who kill at sperm level because God obviously states through this action that is where life begins and is a good reason to inflict death on a man.

Judah, the head of the family orders a fellow to impregnate a woman, and you wonder why God puts him to death? Please note that Judah told Onan to do something Onan knew is obligated to do.

In those days, widowhood was not a good thing. Being childless was also looked down upon. Thus, Judah effectively told Onan to take responsibly for his brother’s wife by making her his own. In addition, Judah wanted Onan to ensure his brother would be remembered by raising up offspring to him.

Consider that the custom was documented in a later book.

Deuteronomy 25:5-10 New American Standard Bible

5 “When brothers live together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not be married outside the family to a strange man. Her husband’s brother shall have relations with her and take her to himself as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her. 6 It shall then be that the firstborn to whom she gives birth shall assume the name of his father’s deceased brother, so that his name will not be wiped out from Israel. 7 But if the man does not desire to take his brother’s widow, then his brother’s widow shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to establish a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.’ 8 Then the elders of his city shall summon him and speak to him. And if he persists and says, ‘I do not desire to take her,’ 9 then his brother’s widow shall come up to him in the sight of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot and spit in his face; and she shall declare, ‘This is what is done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house!’ 10 And in Israel his family shall be called by the name, ‘The house of him whose sandal was removed.’

  5. Amen, Colorstorm! There are no mistakes. I have no idea why anyone would try to dispute the flood, last time I checked there was some clear fossil evidence and near universal agreement that something catastrophic happened.

Thank you also for mentioning the kindness towards women, the mother of all living, the bone of my bone.

Recently I listened to a great talk, “Geometry and the Imagination,” attempting to define the nature of a sphere. Most of it got math heavy and began to sail over my head, but it was interesting because we cannot fully explain the difference between a plane and sphere. Also, the earth is not even presented as a sphere at all, but thought to be a bit catawonky. At best we are a mis-shapen sphere with a tilt at the poles. This actually presents some problems, as you know from having tires with flat spots. Why do we even stay in orbit? So you see, none of these things are “settled science,” the very notion of “settled science” being about as unscientific as you can get.

I can always count on you to provide other colors. So necessary where there are storms. lol

Indeed the ‘science’ is never settled is it. What is true today was false yesterday, and what was false yesterday is true today. Nauseating to hear of the ‘settled facts’ that bely the smell test.

I’m not so sure though why many believers fear even discussing things such as your sphere. Maybe our comfort is questioned? Anyway, my go to line is ‘we are not insects,’ that have gifts withheld from humans, such as clinging to a ceiling for hours like a bug, being perfectly content/ or like an ant who can traverse a basketball and remain unshaken.

But yes, that whole water thing, and the fact that there is ‘so much’ water in this world, and that clouds speak to ‘the waters above’ are things so clear to an unbiased mind- that it is remarkable that we take such things for granted.

Goes without saying too that men and women are equal as to favour, but so different in distinction. 😎

What evidence regarding the biblical global flood are you referring to IB?
I did a quick search and came up with nothing to support your assertion.
As CS does not do ‘Link Pong’, could you name the site or the scientific body/ institution that has the evidence you mention?
I would be very keen to read as it must be groundbreaking stuff !

All the science is wrong, biased and never settled and fits in nicely to the many creationist, anti-science, anti government and extremist conspiracy web sites that you guys would involve yourselves in every day. Nothing fits for you in reality, the present, today, the here and now on our planet Earth, such as biological evolution, climate change, the scientific achievements that you all enjoy and even the shape of the planet, but all this is invented and verified by smarter people than us bloggers, yet you belive every word from old primitive story writings by unknowns and a superstitious people who previously worshipped everything else including the sun.

What makes you think the earth is a planet Steve? Do you have proof other than paper theories?

Ask any liar, thief, rapist, imbecile- ask them if they think earth is a planet. They will say ‘yes’ having zero proof nor ever having thought about it a day in their life. Great company you keep eh, to be so closely aligned with people’s insane assumptions.

So your conspiracy CS is that the “553 people have reached Earth orbit. 556 have reached the altitude of space according to the FAI definition of the boundary of space, and 562 people have reached the altitude of space according to the American definition. 24 people have travelled beyond low Earth orbit and either circled, orbited, or walked on the Moon. ” (Wikipedia) Not to mention the thousands of high flying pilots, millions of people behind space exploration around the world, telescopes and satellite control people who are all keeping one big secret, the shape of the Earth?

And your conspiracy IB is it that most of the worlds scientists are lying about the flood depicted in the Bible?

That’s a whole other tale Steve. But you may want to consider WHY Walt Disney was called upon re. the moon thing.

And if any pilot is honest- at any altitude- and without the aid of fish eye lensing- he will report something other than what CAD engineers draw up-

Reality is the greatest antidote to error.
