I am simply drawing the parallels between HOW things move above, below, and beneath, as in planes, ships, and submarines.
They ALL traverse our wonderfully made plane earth. And your perpetual insults are not becoming Mike.

Across also means “traverse”, as in across an expanse. An example might be across the gorge or the grand canyon. We don’t usually say “across the bridge”, but across the gap between hills “on” or using the bridge. It’s not like the aeroplanes are “skimming” the “surface” of the earth or atmosphere. They are as much “in” the air or atmosphere as we are. Thus my comment about Across not always meaning or implying a surface that they are crossing “on”. Not meaning insult, just correcting a possible misunderstanding of yours based on your bias. The condensation trail is going Across as well as Thru, but not because of any Surface that it’s traversing. Hope that clarifies.

You see, I love these sights because they expose the sacred cows of modern science.
I watched this trail from where it came ‘over the horizon, where it appears to be goi g ‘up,’ then once it passed me, I watched it go ‘down’ over the horizon.
Truth be told, because of perspective, it neither goes up or down, but ‘towards’ and ‘away.’ Planes only go up and down at takeoff and landing. They fly parallel over a plane. Does the word airPLANE not represent reality as God gave us brains to understand? Submarines as well. They do not follow an artificial’ curve underwater.
As a bonus to any interested, our sun makes his circuit precisely the same way. Not ‘up’ but towards. It’s setting is simply moving away from our field of vision. That airplane going down over the horizon is still 26,000 ft about ground, but rest assured, it is not flying into the ground as Degrasse must admit.

But pray tell where is NORTH so as to get the correct reckoning? North is the only fixed position, ie, as in the common compass.
So you need to render first, WHERE is north lest your plane trip end up lost. I’ll not be trapped because you fail to see the relevance of precise directions re. 360*

What an excellent question, and one that will always perplex ball theory. But it’s actually right in line with our discussion re. North.
There is a precision, a daily reliability, in seeing things that are always true, whereby we can trust our eyes and everyday experiences.
Many others have traced the suns movements in degrees ( like a clock) as an elliptical circuit, including declinations too wordy here- that bring into play solstices- and the perfection of the seasons-
And btw, the reason I appeal to compasses is: they cannot work on a balked surface.

This is a lesson on civility. None need not lower themselves to worthless screaming and useless accusation as. This is good debate.
But Flat’ is the wrong word. Ie Everest, hills, valleys, etc. and the sun may be parallel to the earth, but it’s movements follow distinct circuits. A true marvel as it were.

All the celestial bodies combine to give cold and heat- to insure growing seasons and harvest- and bitter cold and snow that we might actually ‘be still.’ Happy now?
As to stationary, I’ve only been saying that for decades. Birds fly and move overhead. Planes fly overhead. Soccer balls get kicked through the air. We walk and move not on an escalator paved with dirt, but an immovable terra firms.
Pity the pilot who must factor a moving target to land on, or a common robin who can’t find her nest.
Of course the earth is stable that it cannot be moved, as any good builder would not erect a structure on a foundation that moved.
Let go of your paper theories and enjoy fully what your eyes see.

You may be surprised ark, I actually understand your question perfectly. But still, there is NO context for the correct answer until you prove where North is, from ANYWHERE, any airport on earth.
You are asking me to interpret what you do not understand, while blaming me for the shortcoming.
Ask any airline pilot if he can travel east , without a north reckoning. Ask any ship captain if he can travel east without a north decking. I’m trying to help u here get a grasp on what you are asking.
