I like your choice of quotations here. I can really relate to what Albert Einstein said because no progress has been made in our educational system in the last 50 years. The teachers and unions say they want the best for students, but they really want the best for themselves. Society today is a product of the failings of public education to develop a citizenry that knows how to think creatively, problem solve, act responsibly and contribute to the welfare of others, etc. Instead, we see an increasing deterioration in the moral fibre of society and the breakdown of all institutions that once provided the glue to hold our nation together and made us a proud people. It is as the Bible says, “Every one doing what is right in his own eyes.” (Deut 12:8; Judges 17:6)

Here is a quote that I read earlier today:

“There’s an old joke about what the newspaper you read — remember reading newspapers? — said about you: The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country, the New York Times is read by the people who think they run the country, the Washington Post is read by people who think they should run the country, the Boston Globe is read by people whose grandparents used to do a damned fine job of running the country, the San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren’t sure whether there is a country or if anybody’s running it, and the Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country. But running the country is a modest ambition — what do you read if you want to be one of the people who run the world?”
