You have heard it all. The cop was a monster killer. Floyd was a boy scout. The word ‘Justice now!’ is given a platform, and is code for ‘we want OUR verdict.’ Everybody apparently is on the ‘protest’ bandwagon, and nobody will be satisfied until a jury finds the policeman guilty of murder.
But not so fast. Mind you, this is my opinion, but haven’t we been told ‘innocent until proven guilty?’ Doesn’t seem that way. When asked how they will proceed, all interested parties set forth their demands: conviction. Guilty already, without ALL evidence.
Consider that small word ‘proven.’ Sure the video was telling, but all we hear is the point of view of the man who had a knee to his head. I want to hear from the policeman. I want to hear what happened, what was said, BEFORE the man ended up on the ground.
Is it possible, and I raise the possibility, that said policeman feared for his own life? Is it possible that Floyd threatened him, his family, with death, the minute he could stand? Surely you have heard of ruses used by men who say ‘I can’t breathe,’ then when released, stand up and attack with a vengeance he who was holding him down? Criminal behavior follows the morally bankrupt. So here is reasonable doubt if so.
Have not officers dealt with lying men and women in that situation before? Was the policeman intentionally trying to end a life? Was he holding a gun to his head? What was said?
You have also heard that witnesses are sought that paint the cop as a monster, but you do not hear one word as to video that would help the policeman. And the riots? Really? Cars stolen from dealership to PROTEST?
An ER doctor cant get to his emergency because roads are blocked, and everybody applauds the carnage. One policeman in a dubious looking photo, but I refuse to get onboard and say guilty of murder before the evidence says as much.
And the fact that Cooper, Wolf, Brooke, Cuomo, etc etc, are not interested in ALL evidence, is a sad day in America when people who are clueless find a man guilty without hearing all the facts.
Surely no reasonable person could argue against my points.
(btw, the reason the military was involved, was the policemen’s hands were tied while they were being bricked as they watched their cars burn. So yeah, liberalism and its insidious poisonous policies is why the military was needed. )

I think you are being over generous to the cops CS. Sure cops have a tough time sometimes, however this was no excuse because there were at least 3 cops so letting the man onto his knees while handcuffed behind his back should have been routine and not a problem for them. The man on the ground had a blood nose making breathing even more difficult and eventually he passed out and the cop still kept his knee on that vital area in the neck restricting blood flow to the brain. Regardless of what the man had said to the cops and even if he was a repeat violent offender he did not deserve to lose his life from the hands of a negligent bunch of cops.
The riots are stupid, fools who found an excuse to use what started as a peaceful demonstration to go out onto the street to destroy property and loot stores, it happens in most countries these days and it makes you wonder why these people are not locked up in a padded cell.

Not generous Steve- but fair. Sure the vid doesn’t look good- but there is no doubt more to the story.
But why burn down a country because of two sense less acts/ one by the criminal and the second by the cop.

Things are not always as obvious as they appear.
Without any good reason to do so, lots of people jumped to the conclusion that a racist cop killed George Floyd. We don’t know why that policeman killed Floyd. Stupidity may cover it.
What we do know is that Democrats were in charge. That makes it probable the management is covering up for its stupidity.

I’m with you, Colorstorm. Everybody in this country is innocent until proven guilty and entitled to a fair trial, even the monsters. There’s no such thing as, “lynch mob by social media experts because we watched a video.”
And of course, there’s a whole lot more going on behind the scenes to deliberately orchestrate all this chaos. Sadly the death of this man has very little to do with it.

Yep. There are are bad cops. But they also have equal protection and deserve their day in court.
A fact lost/ maybe the cop was trying to ‘keep socially distant by not using hands……’

ColorStorm, while you are right that we live in a country where people are innocent until proven guilty, as sklyjd stated: We have a video for the whole world to see of a handcuffed African American man subdued by a rogue cop, with three other officers standing there.
I do not condone the violence and rioting, though I do believe that in many cases, individuals are being sent out to corrupt the peaceful protesting.
I’m not sure if you are white or not, but if you are I’d appreciate it If you’d consider a few things:.
Think over your own life. Were you ever caught doing something wrong, by another white person in authority. They went easy on you. Now imagine if you were a black man, and based upon what you’ve seen in the news or perhaps how you’ve seen people of color treated with your own eyes, do you think that person in authority would have been so lenient with you ?
As a Christian man yourself, if you were to wake up on tomorrow morning to find that God had transformed you into a black man, how would that feel? what challenges do you think you would face? How would that impact your interactions with current family, friends, and coworkers? What would be your reaction to being stopped by a white officer, even if you had done nothing wrong? Do you believe you’d then understand the plight of the African American race, even if you were doing all you could to be an honest, law abiding citizen?

But if a video ‘proves him guilty,’ then heck, skip the trial, and send him straight to death row.
He may have been a ‘rogue’ cop as you say, but equally possible is maybe he wasn’t. Surely u would not argue against needing to see and hear ALL the evidence.
I am as fair minded as anybody worth his salt, but he needs to be Proven guilty, but not on television or by lazy media heads.
Can I remind u of the OJ Simpson verdict? Apparently the ‘evidence’ suggested something else.
All I am asking is for people to be patient, and WAIT, instead of causing mayhem, theft, burning police cars, etc.
There is NO excuse for such after the fact behavior cloaked as Protest.
If the cop is found guilty, fine, so be it, but in any reasonable persons mind, he has not been proven guilty, YET.

I’m not trying to argue, but this is such a hot topic that I want to present some things for you and your readers to consider.
While both of us agree that violence is not the proper response, the two of us are speaking from a “born again” Christian point-of-view.
It would be wonderful if our judicial system always got it right, however we both know that our judicial system is not perfect. There are plenty of innocent people who have been imprisoned, and plenty of guilty people who have beaten the charges against them, for a variety of different reasons. Law enforcement and Judicial officials are seseptable to racism and bribery, just like any other person with sin in their heart.
Jesus Christ is the only perfect Judge…And not only did He die for all of us, but He also became human so that He could identify with the struggles each of us face.
Again I DO NOT and never will agree with the riots and violence, but I DO understand that there are people out there who feel that violence is the only way that they can be heard.
ColorStorm, I admire the way you stand tall and defend the Christian faith against Atheists.
I don’t know how you feel about Black and Brown people. I pray you do not have any underlying racism in your heart. If so, please ask God to remove it.
Once more, I am asking you to consider the struggle of the Black race, and imagine if you were Black yourself by pondering the items I mentioned in my first post.
Satan is the mastermind behind all of the racial tension we see in this world, but men and women have a choice to either listen to him or not.
God does give us discernment and a conscience about unjust things that go on around us. It is vital that we, who are “born again” Christians, stand against and speak out on any inequality that is against Godly principles.

I had a discussion with another professing believer, whom I’ve known(or thought I knew) for ten years, regarding the same subject as your post; And sadly they finally admitted to not liking black people, so while I’m praying for their heart, I’m a little on edge about it.
You are right about the media stirring the pot, but is up to true Christians to set the example for racial harmony.
Again, if you do truly love all people, please accept my apology for calling that into question.

You are a reasonable man marq- but I feel no need to defend a lifetime of consistent goodness and humanity.
I respect the insights of men like Rand Paul, Allen Keyes, Clarence Thomas, whole loathing the bias and hypocrisy of Al Sharpton and Wolf Blitzer.
Race rubble is hardly limited to a single people.
But even Jesse Jackson surprises me on occasion in things in which we agree. I really don’t care who agrees with me.
But I do not think that every mans passion should be the expected passion of others.
But if something is right and true, I’m all for it.

What’s going on in the world is pure madness CS, the George Floyd episode is just the latest example. It goes without saying that if what we see on the video is true than what the cop did to GF was evil and wrong with a wanton disrespect for life to boot We won’t know for sure until a trial is done like you say and that’s what will happen.
Protest the unjust killing? Perfectly understandable and is something I can respect. What I don’t buy in to is this systemic racism boogaboo. There was near universal condemnation of that cop’s behavior, an investigation and he was arrested and charged with 3rd and now 2nd degree murder and will very likely face a long prison sentence. That is our American justice system and it appears to be working.
The riots, looting, violence etc are inexcusable. There is no place in civil society to justify and or condone it, yet here we are.
