Esther and the son of my right hand

What is puzzling is how anybody could find fault with Israel’s concern about a neighboring country’s  desire to exterminate their people. Who with a straight face could side with Iran? Unfortunately there are many, thus a needed visit to the U.S. by a man with a steely resolve, similar to the mettle of Golda Meir, to sound the warning bell of an impending crisis.

Israel’s prime minister, Mr. Benjamin  Netanyahu,  appeared before a joint session of Congress on March 3, 2015, and pretty much pleaded with the United States to recognize the seriousness of Iran’s hopes to finish what Queen Esther prevented: the eradication of the Jewish people.

That’s right, the true Israeli statesman invoked the history of the Persians to prove that some things never change. For those who may not know,  Esther’s (Hadassah) cousin Mordecai, of the tribe of Benjamin by the way,  sent this word to Esther when he found out of Haman’s  wicked plot:

Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape.  For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish.

And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Mordecai was a wise man, and told her that she too was not safe, and this good woman who heeded his counsel with humility, discernment and foresight, was singularly responsible for stopping the wiles of Haman. Indeed, she was raised ‘for such a time as this.’

There he was, with simple notes on 8 x 10 paper, calling upon an audience to remember what should simply be obvious. Even in his restraint, Mr. Netanyahu was ten times better than most, in his oratory.

The prime minister comes to America and cites ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,’ (brilliant by the way) as a related truth for Israels right to exist. He referenced 4,000 years of history, and how for the first time in a hundred generations, Israel is once more able to defend itself, to which he added: ‘Whether any body stands with Israel, Israel will stand.’

David stood alone before Goliath of Gath and reminded him that he was defying the living God, and Benjamin (son of my right hand) Netanyahu while knowing this, kept this secret, lest the truth of God be mocked. He is a wise leader. Listen to what he said, that which the U.S. will not say:

Iran’s regime is as radical as ever. Its cries of Death to America, the same nation it calls the Great Satan, are as loud as ever. This shouldn’t be surprising…Iran’s ideology is rooted in militant Islam. That’s why this regime will always be an enemy of America.

The Great Satan. Militant Islam. Have you heard THAT recently? Me neither. Netanyahu praised the United States for support since Truman, and even mentioned the help of the current Potus, and singled out Elie Wiesel as a reminder that ‘never again’ would Israel be left without a defense.

Mr. Netanyahu spoke of  Robert Frost and the road less taken, with a view that while the narrow path may be unpopular, it is a good road because it is the right road. He stressed Iran’s forked tongue of diplomacy and tact, while at the same time noting that the desire to ‘send Israel to the sea,’ is a threat not to be taken lightly. The right road is critical to Israel’s survival.

Benjamin Netanyahu called upon the memory of Moses that the future Jews would be ‘strong and resolute’ in the face of  clear and present dangers such as a nuclear Iran. After an apparently well received exhortation, the prime minister closed with: ‘God bless Israel, and God bless the United States of America.’

There was a monstrous applause that seemed genuine, unlike the cardboard and predictable clapping when the left or the right read from predictable scripts. Makes sense, for never was there more at stake for this tiny country, which sits as the epicenter of controversy, and which by the way, is the apple of God’s eye.

The ‘son of my right hand’ is a good man bringing a good word; hopefully it fell on good soil. I would only add: Remember Hadassah and the ‘Iron lady’  Ms. Meir.

Ps.  Some will say that the support of Israel is a thing of the past and irrelevant to America. To this I ask: Is there not a God in heaven? Is his promise to ‘bless them that bless thee’ weakened in the least by Israel’s plight? Do believers not have the faith of Abraham? Well then what’s the problem. The Lord Himself said ‘salvation is of the Jews.’

Supporting Israel is simply agreeing with God in any age.

Sigh. How can this be? Seems our great country is now the Devil’s biggest tool to destroy His people. This time I don’t think Israel will sit idly by and be destroyed. Don’t I remember something about peace at any cost? Our appeasement to keep the peace….is going to cause a war. Hmmmm..deja vu. And just like then..God’s chosen are the scapegoats.

When people vote these days, they don’t vote for the good of their country, they vote for the good of #1. When we vote to satisfy our greed, our pride, our lusts, ….. we get the sort of leaders we now have. Obama is power mad. Likely he is also an anti-Semite. We elected Obama because we already had lots of people of the same ilk in Congress.

@archaeopteryx1 – When I said you don’t think, I was serious. Thought requires more of us than we imagine. Because we are creatures made of flesh, warring desires and emotions constantly pour into our minds, ripping apart understanding. When we angrily strive with each other, we just aggravate the chaos..

Remember when you were a child. If you were the least bit fortunate, then at least one of your parents cared about you. Didn’t their love and care bring you any peace? Wasn’t there at least one moment in the day, when because you knew mommy or daddy was there and cared for you that you had peace. That’s the sort of peace that stills the chaos in our minds and allows us to think.

As adults what stills our minds is love and the peace of knowing our Creator loves and cares for us. In spite of our circumstances — whatever difficulties we may face today — we know that for those who love Him everything will be okay.

Psalm 46:10N ew King James Version (NKJV)

        10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

As for, “Esther and Netanyahu, scripture. Truth. Its all in the book.” – Most biblical scholars (and I listed two in another comment that knowing you, you will likely be afraid to release), believe the Book of Esther to be historical fiction. An additional six chapters appear interspersed in Esther in the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the bible, that were not in the Hebrew version. This was noted by Jerome in compiling the Latin Vulgate. But that’s scripture for you —

  2. Good recap. These times we’re living in are downright biblical.

Many people have been filled with so much anti-Israel propaganda that they really can’t see. There’s a map of the middle east that shows this tiny little red dot surrounded by billions of hostile neighbors. Israel is literally a few million people totally engulfed by giant land masses, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, made up of billions of people. It’s a real map, but when I show it to people many think it’s a photoshop, a piece of propaganda. In people’s minds Israel is a giant superpower oppressing all her neighbors.

  8. I’ve been waiting for your “response” to the speech as I knew it would be stellar, and it has been!
First, I realize Mr. Netanyahu was not “officially” invited by the White House, but I was terribly embarrassed that the President of the United States chose the low immature road, and “ignored” a current sitting head of state—so much for a gracious American welcome. I was then further embarrassed that like minded members of Congress and the Senate opted to also act terribly immature by ignoring this visiting head of state and the speech he came to deliver. How mature is “I’m not even going to watch it” coming out of the WH regarding the president’s stance on the speech and visit—sounding much like a small child pouting.
I was equally disappointed in Joe Liberman–a jew who I would have thought would have offered his full support toward Israel.
Netanyahu, like Churchill, the only other sitting Prime Minister to address a joint session of the House and Senate, has sounded a warning. No one, all those many years ago listened to Mr.Churchill, not when he sounded the alarm against Hitler, and not later when he sounded a similar alarm against Joseph Stalin and Communism–and we see what happened in both cases.
Here we have an equally foreword “seeing” world leader sounding the alarm and yet the “free” world is opting to ignore the sirens. . .
I just don’t understand and it all makes me very very sad. . .

Common ground? Ahem, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; that’s kinda common ground.

Below is an excerpt from ‘the moon of promise:’

‘Who can deny the relentless attacks on that tiny piece of real estate, which has been headline news for thousands of years?

Am I boasting about a group who is somehow morally, physically, and spiritually superior to all others?

Perish the thought, but I am taking note of God’s eternal promise that HE will preserve a nation, and he tells mankind, that His word is as reliable as the moon.

Can man claim title to the heavenly orbs? Did man give daylight? Did man sprinkle the stars for night lights?

Which law of science created the waves and ordered their boundaries? What tool can man use to measure the heavens? What earth-mover can measure the corridors below?

God keeps His word. The moon above, and the nation of Israel are further proofs of his promise.

Note he will keep the seed of Israel ‘for all they have done.’ Indeed, part of that past is sordid, but let God be true. How bad was it……………’

      Social, hi to you,

Your web site provides enough context.

You are forgetting the Persian king who spared the Jews through Esther and Mordecai, which king was also responsible for promoting the man who wanted the Jews all dead in the first place. Without Esther being raised up for such a time as ‘that,’ undoubtedly, the king would have heeded the counsel of that wicked Agagite Haman, one of many perpetual enemies and agitators of Israel. So I would be slow to boast about ‘peace and safety,’ for photographs tell a one sided story.

Mr Netanyahu’s concerns are valid; there are they who hate Israel’s very existence, no different than the days of Samuel, beginning with Agag and the Amalekites.

It doesn’t, or at least it shouldn’t matter to both the Jew and the Christian, although where you are getting your facts about Jews not believing in Moses is beyond me. Not only are there those that are blind to all of this that are unbelievers but there are those believers as well that are spiritually blind. I appreciate your heart for Israel more than you will ever know. God bless you, I am honored to call you friend.

Your replies are just perfect M.
I fully understand where words are sometimes not enough. How does one rightly encapsulate the deep things of God and place them on a needle point?

But I can understand the desire, and that is enough. Tkx for such good words.

(Most of the commenting on this post has been exceptional, it is so good to see such support)

good read – if we only had leaders like Israel does – leaders who are not afraid to quote the bible – and whom God protects when they do!

  19. Hi. I LOVED Bibi’s speech! He is a brilliant man and a strong leader. Iran was not always anti-Semitic. Persian kings Cyrus and Xerxes (Esther’s husband) helped Israel. Haman, on the other hand, was an “Agagite,” descended from King Agag, an Amalekite, who hated Jews.) I don’t know what the percentages are, but many Iranians do not support their anti-Semitic regime.

      Yes Sheryl,
Your points are good; remember Haman was promoted and his schemes would have been carried out had if not been for divine intervention.

And yes, many Iranians do not share the plans of a govt bent on Israel’s destruction, similar to other countries who are crushed by oppressing policy, but as you know there are ‘kings’ who have intentions that are not good.

      Tks for visit and commenting!!

      • I wrote that comment because someone with an blog focused on Iran sent me some messages about the Iranian people vs the regime. Apparently, Iranians are a rather diverse people.. Anyway, I am 100 percent behind Bibi, a great man, a great leader, and I’m wishing we had leaders like him in my country. 🙂

A careless reader may agree with the poster above and say ‘wow, slaughtered!’ I say, slow down. These people were not innocent family members.

These were the ENEMIES of Israel, they who were kin of all who wanted to exterminate the Jews. In Esther it reads for example:

The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people.

‘The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand.’

Did I say Haman? Yep, remember him? It was his scheme that was stopped by Mordecai and Esther. If seventy thousand Jews were killed, it would not even be a concern for many. God forbid they destroy those who wanted their heads.

If this nation sides with Israel’s enemies then we are rushing into God’s judgment, with our national leader going ahead of us. God is not mocked and what He says He means. Those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. Here is a great video that is a tremendous blessing regarding the nation of Israel. God bless us.

A very inspiring video, a genuine testimony to the Human will and the wonders of modern science as applied to the field of agriculture. A model for how lands all over the world could be reclaimed.

        That’s right arch-

People have been farming for thousands of years. It’s obviously true, who could argue against farming.

But did ya miss the part about the UN hatred of Israel, did ya miss the part about all the nations of the world coming against Israel?

Did ya miss the part about Latin not being spoken in Latin America, while the Hebrew language has been revived?

Did ya miss the part about God’s promises to keep Israel in perpetuity, in spite of its’ shortcomings?

Did ya miss the part about every single empire being history, while Israel stands?

Did ya miss the part how God controls history and time? Did ya miss the part how Israel is simply one more proof of a God in heaven?

How did ya like the Hebrew lettering on the Coca Cola bottle by the way…

You would take the side of wicked Haman, who hate the Jews, fortunately, in the spirit of this post, there are many Esther’s.

Eliza’s link of this vid has revealed your heart to yourself. Take advantage.

Well, after all arch, the Lord Jesus Christ is Jewish, and your track record of insolence is rather deep.

Paul was a Jew. Moses was a Jew. Abraham was a Jew. Peter was a Jew. Mordecai was a Jew. Daniel was a Jew. Esther was a Jew. Issac was a Jew. Jacob was a Jew. Nathanael was a Jew. Zacharias was a Jew. Gamaliel was a Jew. Edersheim was a Jew. Rabbi Jack Kuduri was a Jew.

History and facts are a tight noose.
(Perhaps it is simply Jewish people of faith who you despise…and of course all believers everywhere)

      Great link Eliza-

Only a close minded or dishonest person would disagree with the fact of Israel’s remarkable existence.

God’s word is forever settled in heaven, and Israel itself confirms His enduring and endearing promises.
